Licence to Harvest Sandalwood - Western Australia

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to pull or remove sandalwood from Crown Land or privately owned land. Sandalwood includes the wood of any tree of the genera santalum or fusanus, or any other wood which may be used as a substitute for sandalwood.

You do not require this licence to harvest sandalwood grown on a plantation.

Your licence will specify:

  • The quantity of wood which you can remove;
  • The area of land from which you can be remove the wood; and
  • The period within which you can remove the wood.

Please note that in some areas you may also need a licence to clear the land.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Supply written authorisation from the owner or occupier of the land from which you intend to harvest sandalwood;
  • Allow the Agency to inspect the land from which you intend to harvest sandalwood;
  • Submit the required forms; and
  • Pay the required fees.
