Motor Vehicle Repair Business Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to operate a motor vehicle repair business. This licence is required if you are an owner of a motor vehicle repair business, a self-employed motor vehicle repairer or operate a mobile repair business. Repair work includes tasks such as:

  • examining motor vehicles
  • diagnosing and detecting faults
  • adjusting, servicing and maintaining motor vehicles
  • overhauling
  • replacing parts
  • painting.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be 18 years or older
  • be of good character and repute
  • specify the premises from which you will carry out work under the licence
  • have sufficient resources to carry on the business doing the class(es) of repair work for which the application relates
  • employ (including self employment) at least one motor vehicle repairer who has a Motor Vehicle Repairer's Certificate at each of the premises from which the business operates
  • submit the required forms
  • pay the prescribed fees.
