National Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Vinyl Chloride - Western Australia

You must comply with this code if you undertake activities relating to the manufacture, reaction, packaging, repackaging, storage, handling, transportation, use or disposal of vinyl chloride or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Both polyvinyl chloride and vinyl chloride are industrial chemicals.

This code provides practical guidance in the identification of health hazards, evaluation of risks and control of exposure associated with the manufacture of vinyl chloride and its subsequent polymerisation to polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Please note that vinyl chloride is often referred to as vinyl chloride monomer (VCM).

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance that may be required.
