Offshore Pipeline Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to construct, alter or operate an offshore petroleum pipeline. A petroleum pipeline is a pipe or system of pipes used to convey petroleum. This includes any storage tanks or ancillary works associated with the pipeline.

This licence applies to pipelines that are constructed offshore. If you intend to construct or operate an onshore petroleum licence, you will require a different petroleum pipeline licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • provide details of the proposed design, construction, size and capacity of the pipeline
  • provide details of the technical qualifications of you and your employees
  • provide a plan with the proposed route of the pipeline and proposed pumping and tank stations
  • provide a proposed pipeline management plan
  • provide evidence of the your technical and financial capacity to construct and operate the proposed facilities
  • include information on how the pipeline operations will not interfere with other users of the sea to a greater extent than necessary
  • pay any required fees.
