Permit to Erect an Electrified, Barbed Wire or Razor Wire Fence - City of Rockingham - Western Australia

Description

You will need this permit if you intend to construct an electrified, barbed wire or razor wire fence around your property. This licence will not be issued if the fence is on, or next to, a residential lot.

Any fence that is constructed has to comply with the applicable standards. You will also need a building licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must ensure that:

 

  • the barbed wire or other spiked materials are carried on posts not less than 1950mm from the ground level
  • the barbed wire fence is not placed upon a lot that is adjacent to a thoroughfare or other public place
  • where razor wire is used it is constructed on a fence no less than 2000mm above the ground.
