Primary Producer Licence - Western Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to use and possess firearms as a primary producer. This licence applies to firearms used in the course of your primary production business and on land you occupy or control for that business.

Primary production activities may include:

  • plant or fungi cultivation
  • animal maintenance or domestic breeding
  • fishing or pearling
  • tree farming or felling.

This licence may only apply to Category A, B, C, E and H firearms and can apply to a maximum of 10 firearms.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • provide proof of identification
  • be a fit and proper person for this licence
  • provide supporting documentation relevant to the reason you intend to licence a firearm
  • undergo a Firearm Authority Health Assessment
  • successfully complete a Firearms Safety Training course.

If the licence application relates to a tranquilliser gun, there must be an authorised person under the licence who can lawfully administer a tranquillising agent.
