You will require this registration if you intend to practise as a veterinarian in Western Australia.
A veterinarian provides diagnosis, medical or surgical treatment of disease or injury in animals, provides advice on the health and welfare of animals and public health and safety of animal food products.
This registration is also required if you intend to offer veterinary services as a company or as an animal welfare society. Registration is available for two types of company:
- Where all shareholders are veterinary surgeons; or
- Where one shareholder is a registered veterinary surgeon and another is a person of good fame or character.
Please note that all veterinary premises must also be separately registered.
