Restricted Asbestos Removal Licence - Western Australia


You will need this licence if you intend to undertake any work that will involve the removal of non-friable asbestos or non-friable asbestos-containing materials in amounts greater than 10 square metres in total. There are two categories of asbestos:

  • friable asbestos - which is easily crumbles into a dust
  • non-friable asbestos - which is bonded and less likely to break unto pieces.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • complete an approved training course
  • satisfy the agency that you are able to do asbestos work involving non-friable asbestos-containing material in a safe and proper manner.
