Approval for Camping on Private or Unapproved Land - Western Australia

Description

You may require this approval if you intend to camp on land other than a caravan park or camping ground. Camping means dwelling in a caravan or other vehicle that is designed for habitation and sleeping purposes.

You are entitled to camp on land that you own, or have a right to occupy, for up to three nights within a twenty-eight day period without an approval. If you intend to camp for a longer period of time, you will require this approval from the Council.

If you intend to camp on unallocated crown land or unmanaged reserve land, you must apply to the responsible agency for permission to do so.

You will need written approval if you intend to use or occupy more than one caravan. If the period of occupation is less than 3 months, you will require the approval of the council. If the period of occupation is more than 3 months, you will require the approval of the Minister.
