You will require this lease if you intend to undertake commercial aquaculture operations on Crown Land or in coastal waters. Aquaculture means the keeping, breeding, hatching, culturing or harvesting of fish (including fish eggs, spawn and larvae). The lease will specify the species of fish you are authorised to keep, breed or hatch under the lease. If you successfully obtain a lease, you will be granted the exclusive right to keep, breed and harvest the specified species of fish within the leased area, and entitles you to the ownership of all fish kept and bred within the leased area. Please note that this lease does not authorise you to actually carry out aquaculture operations. A separate licence is required.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
