Blasting in a Townsite Permit - Western Australia

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to conduct blasting operations within a townsite. These operations may involve the blasting of rocks or other solid matter, or the blasting to damage, destroy or demolish any structure on land or water.

Permits are subject to conditions designed to protect public safety. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must hold public risk insurance of at least $5 million (or higher if the circumstances require). The application must set out the following information:

  • Date, location and purpose of the blasting;
  • Details of the person who will use the explosive (this person must hold a shot firing licence); and
  • Details of your public risk insurance policy.

Additional Information

You must submit the permit application and blasting plan at least one working day before the proposed use of explosives. One application may cover multiple explosions.
