Code of Practice for the Management and Control of Asbestos in the Workplace - Western Australia

Description

You must comply with this code if you have control of a workplace which has, or is likely to have, asbestos containing materials in it.

The code also applies to people with control of premises, government inspectors, asbestos removalists and others involved in managing and controlling risks from asbestos containing materials. Asbestos containing materials can include buildings, structures, plant and equipment.

Asbestos is a hazardous material that poses a risk to health by inhalation if the asbestos fibres become airborne and people are exposed to these airborne fibres. The code details measures to reduce or eliminate the risks of exposure to airborne asbestos fibres.
