You may require this approval if you intend to undertake any development or business activity. You will need to consult with Council to confirm if the activity is permitted or not, or whether you will require planning approval. Development includes any demolition, erection, construction, alteration of, or any addition to, any building or structure on the land, or the carrying out of any excavation or other works.
Planning approval may also be required for any of the following circumstances:
- Conducting commercial vehicle wrecking;
- Developing places with Heritage Significance;
- Changing the use of a building/premises;
- Increasing the floor area of an existing structure;
- Erecting signs;
- Developing car parks or changes to the operation of car parks;
- Conducting a home-based business;
- Three or more dwellings on a single site;
- All non-residential developments;
- Lapsed Development Approvals (approvals are generally valid for two years, after which a new application must be submitted); and
