General Purpose Lease (Onshore Minerals) - Western Australia

Description

You may require this lease if you intend to construct infrastructure relating to mining production activities in onshore areas of Western Australia.

A general purpose lease entitles you to exclusive occupation of the land. It may be granted for one of the following purposes:

  • erecting, placing and operating machinery in connection with mining operations
  • depositing or treating minerals or tailings obtain from any land
  • using the land for any other specified purpose directly connected with mining operations.

The maximum area you may be granted under a general purpose lease is 10 hectares, unless the Agency is satisfied that a larger area of land is necessary. You may apply for multiple general purpose leases. A general purpose lease is limited to 15 metres below the lowest part of the natural surface of the land.
