Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals: Cattle - Western Australia

Description

You may be required to comply with this code if you handle or keep cattle in Western Australia. Cattle includes all domestic bovines, such as cows, bulls, steers, heifers and calves.

The aims of this code are to:

  • promote the humane and considerate treatment of cattle, and the use of good husbandry practices to improve the welfare of cattle in all types of cattle farming businesses
  • inform you of your responsibilities for the care and management of cattle
  • set minimum industry standards by defining acceptable cattle management practices.
