You may be required to comply with this code if you are involved in the slaughter of animals in Western Australia. This code outlines the responsibilities of all people involved in the slaughter of animals, including:

  • truck drivers
  • stockmen
  • slaughtering staff
  • inspectors
  • veterinarians
  • abattoir management staff
  • other people employed at slaughtering establishments.

This code aims to minimise stress caused to animals by encouraging their considerate, humane treatment.
