National Code of Practice for the Labelling of Workplace Substances - Western Australia


You will be required to comply with this code if you intend to manufacture or import a substance for use at a workplace. You may also be required to comply with this code if you intend to use a hazardous substance at your workplace.

A label is defined as any information on a container which identifies the substance in the container and provides basic information about its safe use and handling. If you import or manufacture a substance you are generally required to make sure it has a label that states whether or not it is hazardous.

The code provides guidance on meeting the requirements for the labelling of hazardous substances used at work under the National Model Regulations for the Control of Workplace Hazardous Substances
