Special Prospecting Licence (Onshore Minerals) - Western Australia

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to prospect for gold on land which is already the subject of a different prospecting licence (the primary tenement).

A special prospecting licence will authorise you to prospect for gold in an area up to 10 hectares in size, to a maximum depth of 50m. It will authorise you to excavate or remove up to 500 tonnes of material. The holder of the primary tenement is entitled to continue prospecting for materials other than gold on the land.

You may apply for this licence 12 months after the date on which the primary tenement was granted. You must apply for this licence as an individual. A special prospecting licence cannot be held by a corporation, association or any other organisation.
