Controlled medicines and prohibited substances include, but are not limited to:
- Methyl phenidate;
- Phenyl acetic acid;
- Ammonium nitrate;
- Anabolic steroids;
- Growth hormones;
- All schedule 5 and 8 medicines; and
- Remedies for alcoholic, drug and tobacco habits.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this licence you must:
- Submit a written application;
- Have completed the approved academic and professional qualifications;
- Have the required knowledge, training and experience;
- Provide an explanation and details of why you will require the use of these medicines; and
- Comply with any other requirements that may be set.
