AS 1375 Industrial Fuel-fired Appliances - Australian Capital Territory

Service summary

You will be required to comply with this standard if you install, manufacture, sell or maintain industrial appliances that are heated by burning gas. The standard gives principles for the design, construction and operation of industrial appliances that are heated by the combustion of a gas such as:

  • Ovens;
  • Furnaces;
  • Boilers; and
  • Dryers.

The standard deals with the safety of the fuel combustion process and combustible vapours or dusts that may occur or be generated within an appliance. The code describes methods of calculating:

  • Critical appliance characteristics;
  • Explosion relief areas; and
  • Air dilution volumes.
