Approval to Supply Syringes - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to provide syringes as part of the ACT Needle and Syringe Program. The Program aims to reduce the risk of transmission of the HIV virus and other blood borne diseases for injecting drug users by providing sterile injecting equipment and education.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be a fit and proper person, as determined by the Agency
  • be a doctor, pharmacist, nurse, midwife or health worker
  • have completed a course approved by the Minister about appropriate health counselling and the hygienic distribution, use, collection and disposal of syringes
