Multiple Cat Licence - Australian Capital Territory

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to keep four or more cats on one residential premises. You will not require this licence if the cats are:

  • Less than eighty-four days old;
  • An assistance animal; or
  • Being kept for less than twenty-eight days.

Please be aware that your cats must also be micro-chipped and de-sexed.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

When your application has been received, an inspection will occur to ensure that your facility is appropriate for the type and numbers of cats that the licence will cover. The inspection will assess:

  • The size of the premises;
  • The adequacy of the facilities for keeping cats;
  • The security of the premises; and
  • The likelihood of any nuisance to the neighbours.
