You will be required to comply with a methodology determination if you operate an Eligible Offsets Project under the Carbon Farming Initiative. Eligible Offsets Projects work towards either:
- reducing greenhouse gas emissions
- sequestering greenhouse gasses.
Sequestering greenhouse gases is the process of capturing and storing greenhouse gases. Methodologies are developed by private applicants, industry associations and government agencies to ensure that Eligible Offsets Projects operate according to a strict set of rules.
