Poisons Standard - Australian Government

Description

You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to work with poisons and medicines. The standard consists of decisions regarding the classification of medicines and poisons into Schedules for inclusion in the relevant legislation of the States and Territories. The standard aims to promote uniform scheduling of substances and uniform labelling and packaging requirements throughout Australia.

The standard:

  • establishes requirements for containers and labelling
  • recommends other controls regarding drugs and poisons.
