You will require this accreditation if you intend to operate an institution, or company, that will conduct research into, or have dealings with, genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
GMOs are organisms, whether plants or other matter, that have had their genomes altered by humans.
The purpose of this accreditation is to allow for the assessment of your organisation's resources and internal processes to ensure you are able to oversee work with GMOs.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
For your application to be successful you must have established, or have access to, an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). IBCs are comprised of experts and people independent of your organisation, the purpose of an IBC is to oversee your operations.
Due to the complicated nature of accreditation, it is recommended you consult directly with the Contact Officer for information on any eligibility requirements.
As specified by the Agency.
No fees are required.
