You must register to report with MASTREP with if you are the master of a Regulated Australian Vessel, or if you are the master of a foreign vessel from the arrival at its first port in Australia until its departure from its final port in Australia.
Positional reporting for vessels is sourced from the vessel's Automatic Identification System (AIS).
There are some areas where MASTREP reporting is mandatory and some where it is voluntary, please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To register for MASTREP you must:
- Be the master of a Registered Australian Vessel; or
- Be the master of a Foreign vessel.
