Contractor Licence - Air Conditioning and Refrigeration - Individual - New South Wales

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to install, maintain or service an air conditioning or refrigeration systems and carry out any associated electrical work. This licence does not cover work on self contained single phase plug-in domestic air conditioning / refrigeration system or air conditioning systems in a motor vehicle but does include any three-phase or ducted air-conditioning systems.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • be considered a fit and proper person for the purposes of the licence
  • not be of mental incapacitation
  • not be disqualified
  • have the necessary qualifications and practical experience as specified by the Authority, and not a debtor to the Director-General or Administration Corporation
  • be a fit and proper person
  • pay any required fees.

A renewal notice is sent out by the Agency 6 weeks prior to the expiry date.
