Registration as an Employer of Outworkers (Clothing Industry) - New South Wales

Service summary

You may require this registration if you intend to manufacture clothing products.

If you intend to contract workers outside your own factory or workshop to perform work on your behalf you must be registered as an employer of outworkers. This includes contracting workers to perform tasks such as packing, processing or working on articles or materials for the clothing industry at their home or at different premises.

The requirement for registration is contained in the relevant Clothing Trades Award. Please see the attached document for details.
