Racing Colours Registration (Thoroughbred Racing) - New South Wales

Description

Every thoroughbred horse that races within the Metropolitan Area must carry registered colours. Gaining this registration entitles you to the exclusive use of the colours during the period covered by the registration.

Please be aware that:

  • all colours worn by a horse's rider must be declared
  • if two or more people declare the same colours at the time of entry, the Agency will decide who can have such colours and who will need to adopt other colours
  • you need to comply with the specified rules and your registration may be subject to conditions.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Duration

Registration may be renewed on or before the 1st March each year or on such year determined by a five-year renewal cycle period. If an application is not made for renewal of registration within three months of the due date, any right of renewal shall lapse.
