You will need this registration if you intend to participate in the National Electricity Market. Activities that require this registration include:

  • owning, controlling or operating a generating system connected to the national electricity system
  • owning, controlling or operating a transmission or distribution system forming part of the national electricity system
  • purchasing electricity directly through a wholesale exchange.
