This certification enables the holder to certify the design and/or construction of plumbing and drainage works in all classes of buildings, in accordance with the provisions of Building Regulations (4) (ASNZ3500); and certify the construction of hydraulic fire services ie. fire hydrants and fire hose reels, in accordance with the approved design and ASNZ3500.
Certifying Plumbers are required to contribute to the Home Building Certification Insurance Fund managed by the Territory Insurance Office and produce proof of payment annually.
Applicants are required to hold and maintain a current Northern Territory Plumbers & Drainers Licence to be considered for registration.
If a corporation or firm is registered as a certifying plumber and drainer, then they must have a nominated individual who is also registered in the same category.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
