Service summary

You will need this permit if you have a vehicle that you use for commercial purposes and the vehicle is other than a goods carrying vehicle such as a utility, panel van and the like. A vehicle constructed, fitted or equipped for the carriage of people i.e. has seats and seat belts such as a sedan or station wagon must obtain a commercial vehicle permit to be entitled to park in a commercial vehicle loading zone. This permit will enable you to stand for the permitted time in commercial loading zones while conducting business.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.


This licence cannot be transferred. If you sell the vehicle, the commercial vehicle permit must be removed from the vehicle.

If the new owner requires a commercial vehicle permit, they must make separate application.

If the new vehicle purchased replaces the old vehicle with the commercial vehicle permit please contact Council and advise the new vehicle registration details. Upon notification, a new permit will be issued to the permit holder. A fee applies for a replacement permit.


This licence remains in effect for one year.
