You will require this registration if you intend to keep dogs as part of your business, including:

  • guard dogs for hire
  • racing dogs
  • pet shops.

Microchipping:

  • Cats and dogs born before 1 July 2010 do not need to be microchipped.
  • Cats and dogs born or transferred after 1 July 2010 need to be microchipped.
  • Cats and dogs must be microchipped after they reach 12 weeks of age.
