Gas Fitting Work Permit - South Australia

Description

You will need this permit if you intend to install, maintain and repair LPG / CNG as fuel systems fitted to any internal combustion engine. There are six classes of gas fitting:

  • class 1 - all classes of gas fitting
  • class 2 - three installations for approval (a prerequisite to obtaining a Class 1)
  • class 3 - fork lifts only (installation, maintenance, repair)
  • class 4 - vehicle gas equipment (maintenance, repair)
  • class 5 - stationary engines (installation, maintenance, repair)
  • class 6 - other situation specific.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must hold qualifications in an approved trade and have either completed an approved training course, or have had three months experience working under a licence holder.
