Authorised Meter Adjuster - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this authorisation if you intend to test, seal or program taxi meters. You will be authorised to undertake activities such as ensuring that taximeters are operating correctly, issuing certificates to operators of taxi licences, and sealing taximeters to ensure no other person can tamper with them.

Issue or replacement of taximeter sealing pliers.



A written endorsement is required from each manufacturer whose meters it is proposed to seal, certifying that the manufacturer is satisfied the applicant has the necessary technical competencies to carry out this function. A sample of this letter is available in the application pack.
