Registration of a Caravan Park - Victoria

Service summary

You will require this registration if you intend to operate a caravan park or mobile home park, either on private or municipal land.

For the purposes of this registration, a caravan park is an area of land on which movable dwellings are situated for occupation on a short or long-term basis, and where communal bathroom and public areas are provided for residents.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Ongoing requirements

To continue this registration you must undertake the duties as required of the operator of a caravan park, including ensuring all maintenance and repairs are completed.

The caravan park premises, operation and buildings must comply with all state and national codes of practice.

Duration

The renewal period of a caravan park willl be three years.

Expiry

This registration will need to be renewed by the end of every two or three calendar years, depending on the permit issued.

Fees range between $229.50 and $918 per three years, according to the number of sites, please consult the responsible council for information on the correct fees to be submitted with your application. Fees for 2016-17.

Transfer

Fifty percent of the applicable three yearly registration fee. Fees for 2016-17.
