You will require this licence if you intend to act as a boxing or combat sports match-maker. A match-maker acts on behalf of a promoter to arrange professional contests between particular professional contestants.
The sports covered include:
- boxing, meaning fist fighting
- combat sports, meaning kickboxing or any sport or activity (other than boxing) in which each contestant in a contest or exhibition of that sport or activity is required to strike, kick, hit, grapple with, throw or punch the other contestant.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this licence you must:
- be 18 years of age
- have sufficient experience in the industry as a trainer, contestant or promoter
- have a good knowledge of professional contestants and their relative skills
- set out nature and extent of you experience
- apply using the prescribed form
- have current insurance
- pay the prescribed fees.
