Registration of a Greyhound - Victoria

Description

You will need to register your greyhound with Greyhound Racing Victoria to use it for racing and / or breeding purposes. Greyhounds registered with Greyhound Racing Victoria are exempt from the requirement to be registered with the local council. A greyhound cannot compete in an event run by Greyhound Racing Victoria unless its owner and trainer are registered with Greyhound Racing Victoria.

Former racing greyhounds registered under the Greyhound Adoption Program and adopted under contract with Greyhound Racing Victoria are also exempt.

Greyhounds may also be nominated for registration under the Greyhound Owners and Breeders Incentive Scheme. Greyhounds registered under this scheme are eligible for additional prize money.
