Accreditation of a Course - Victoria

Service summary

You will require this accreditation if you intend to develop a course for a registered Vocational Education and Training (VET) or for a Higher Education organisation. In the development of a new course, you must ensure that the following aspects have been researched:

  • the need for the course
  • stakeholders interest in the course
  • ensuring that the course does not duplicate an existing course or training package.

If the course has the potential to be high risk, please read the guide and submit the Risk Assessment Form.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • provide preliminary research showing that the course is needed
  • have prepared the course concept proposal
  • submit the required forms
  • pay any prescribed fees.

Ongoing requirements

If your course accreditation is approved, you must demonstrate a method of ongoing monitoring that will be used to ensure that the course remains relevant.

Duration

Accreditation may be granted for a period up to 5 years.
