Description

You must comply with this code if you intend to:

  • perform skin penetration procedures
  • operate premises where skin penetration procedures are performed
  • clean and / or sterilise appliance for the purpose of skin penetration.

Skin penetration procedures are procedures where the skin is cut, punctured, torn or shaved or a mucous membrane is cut, punctured or torn. Skin penetration procedures include:

  • acupuncture
  • beauty treatments (such as waxing)
  • body piercing
  • cosmetic enhancements
  • tattooing.
