Registration as a Beekeeper - Western Australia

Service summary

You will require this registration if you intend to manage or keep bees or any hive that contains bees. A condition of this registration is that you must also identify each hive you own with a registered identifier and / or brand.

If someone has a mortgage over your hives the Agency must be notified and you will not be able to change ownership of the mortgaged hives without the mortgagee's consent.

To be eligible for this licence, you must ensure that all:

  • hives in your possession are marked with your registered brand in the prescribed manner and
  • relevant safety and health precautions are undertaken.
