Tobacco Sellers Licence - Western Australia

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to sell a tobacco product (for example: cigarettes, cigars, loose tobacco, shisha, and any other tobacco prepared for human consumption). Licences are available for retail, wholesale, or indirect sale. An indirect sale is where the seller and the purchaser are not in the same place at the same time, for example, a sale by telephone, fax, mail order or Internet. Please note that only one type of licence (retail, wholesale or indirect sale) will be issued to a person for a particular premise.

You may apply for a licence as an individual, or as a body corporate (including a company, partnership or association).

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • provide evidence of your identity
  • be a fit and proper person to hold a licence
  • submit the required form
  • pay the required fee.

If you are applying for a licence on behalf of a body corporate you will be required to provide further documentation concerning your organisation and evidence of your authorisation to apply for a licence on its behalf.

A licence is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
