You will require this approval if you intend to bring live pearl oysters into Western Australia from outside the state, or transport diseased pearl oysters within Western Australia. If you intend to transport healthy pearl oysters within Western Australia you do not require this approval. Transporting pearl oysters means moving them either into Western Australia from outside the state, or moving them out of a hatchery, quarantine site or fishery zone within Western Australia.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this licence you must provide the Agency with a Certificate of Health for the pearl oysters issued by an approved fish pathologist. To be eligible to transport pearl oysters into Western Australia from outside the state, the oysters must be certified as healthy. To be eligible to transport diseased pearl oysters within Western Australia, the oysters must have been certified as unhealthy because of the presence of oyster oedema disease.
