Cattery Registration - Western Australia

Service summary

You will require this registration if you intend to operate a cattery or keep more than the prescribed number of cats on your premises. More than the prescribed number of cats differs between 3 or 4 according to your Council.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

An applicant for a permit to keep 3 or more cats must:

  • Submit plans showing the specifications of the modules where the cats will be kept;
  • Made by an occupier of the premises in relation to those premises;
  • In a form approved by the Council; and
  • Satisfy the council that the number of cats to be kept will not be a nuisance, injurious or dangerous to health.
