You will require this licence if you intend to farm and / or breed fauna (native wildlife) for sale or commercial display. Fauna means any animal indigenous to Australia, and any animal that periodically migrates to and lives in Australia and includes any animal declared to be fauna by the Agency. This licence allows you to:
- Sell products or fauna derived from farming or breeding such as eggs;
- Farm and breed fauna for sale or commercial display; and
- Transport live fauna to or from other licensed farms or between licensed farms.
You may also be authorised to slaughter your farmed fauna and produce processed animal products on your farm. Please note that farming or keeping reptiles and amphibians will require a separate licence. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
