Abrasive Blasting Code of Practice - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You may be required to comply with this code if you conduct a business that undertakes abrasive blasting or has a duty to manage the risks of abrasive blasting.

Abrasive blasting means propelling a stream of abrasive material at high speed against a surface using compressed air, liquid, steam, centrifugal wheels or paddles to clean, abrade, etch or otherwise change the original appearance or condition of the surface.

Duties in relation to abrasive blasting include:

  • managing associated health and safety risks
  • managing hazards
  • implementing control measures.
