Accreditation as a Heavy Vehicle Driver (HVA) Assessor - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will need this accreditation if you intend to conduct assessments for drivers of heavy vehicles and / or trucks. This accreditation system is intended to ensure that there are minimum standards and consistency across all driving in the ACT.

When your application for accreditation has been approved, you will be given a certificate of accreditation that must be displayed in your vehicle.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be at least 21 years old
  • hold a current Heavy Vehicle Driver's licence
  • have sufficient driving ability and knowledge of safe driving practices and road law
  • be medically fit and a suitable person to provide driving instruction
  • hold no prior convictions against your name within the last five years for a disqualifying offence
  • have successfully completed the required mandatory qualification at a Registered Training Organisation
  • hold public liability insurance that insures you against liability in relation to the death, or bodily injury, caused from the use of a motor vehicle for providing driving instruction.
