You may need to submit a Statement of Heritage Effect if you intend to undertake an activity that may damage or diminish the heritage significance of a place or object. This must be approved prior to the commencement of the activity.

A Statement of Heritage Effect details the impact development may cause to any archaeological or subsurface material. They also identify ways to minimise risk of damage to the site.
