Australian Standard AS C 118 - Approval and Test Specification-Electric Hand Lamps - Australian Capital Territory


You must comply with this standard if you are involved in the construction, installation or provision of lamps for persons engaged in compressed air work in tunnels or caissons. A caisson is a watertight retaining structure used in situations such as the construction of a bridge pier.

This standard referenced in legislation has been superseded by AS/NZS 60598.2.8:2002: Luminaires - Particular requirements - Handlamps. It specifies requirements for hand lamps and similar portable luminaires for use with tungsten filament and tubular fluorescent lamps on supply voltage up to 250 V.
