Children and Young People (Drug Testing) Standards - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to:

  • operate a care service
  • hold a child or young person under a care and protection or interim care and protection order.

This standard must be complied with if you are providing care to someone aged between 0 and 18 who is required to undertake mandatory drug testing.

The standard sets out guidelines for undertaking drug testing on children; including the process for:

  • taking samples
  • provision of results.

Please note that there are also standards under the national system which require your compliance.
